WORKSHOP WITH GVAA AND PARKS

May 12, 2004

The workshop of the Walkersville Burgess & Commissioners, GVAA, and Parks Committee began at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. Those in attendance included Burgess Ralph Whitmore, Commissioners Sam Eyler, Joe Magluilo, Chad Weddle, and Debbie Zimmerman, Town Manager Gloria Rollins, Public Works Supervisor Dennis Miller, Zoning Administrator Susan Hauver, Public Works Director Bob DePaola, Thom Beckley, Jim Beard, Wanda Heurich. Commissioner Schildt was absent.

The plan was to discuss options and cost estimates received from Morgan-Keller. Mr. Beckley did not have the paperwork from Morgan-Keller as yet. He did not remember that the workshop was rescheduled to this date. He plans to bring 3 options for different sized buildings that can be added on to and the 3 cost estimates to go with them. The workshop is rescheduled for the May 26, 2004 town meeting. Also, a revenue-generating committee is being formed in order to develop contacts for donors and fundraising campaigns.

The Parks meeting will be cancelled for June, so the next Parks Committee meeting will take place the first Wednesday in August.

Workshop adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
