WALKERSVILLE BURGESS & COMMISSIONERS MEETING

July 21, 2010

The meeting of the Walkersville Burgess & Commissioners was called to order on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the conclusion of the annexation workshop. Those in attendance included Burgess Ralph Whitmore, Commissioners Donald Schildt, Chad Weddle, Russell Winch, and Debbie Zimmerman, Planning and Zoning Administrator Susan Hauver.

The meeting was called to order by Burgess Ralph Whitmore.

1. NEW BACKHOE

Burgess Whitmore reviewed the quotes for a new backhoe. The lowest quote for a JCB would be foreign-made. The John Deere, the next lowest quote, would be $75,995, and American-made. He reminded the Commissioners of their buy American-made policy.

Commissioner Winch made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Weddle, to purchase the John Deere backhoe for $75,995. The motion passed 4-0.

2. REAL ESTATE AGENT

Burgess Whitmore reviewed proposals from realtors to list the Walker Farm. He noted the staff recommendation of using Fred and Chris Kelly, whose proposed commission would be ½% better than the other realtors.

By common consent, the Commissioners agreed to listing the property with Fred and Chris Kelly.
