WALKERSVILLE BURGESS & COMMISSIONERS TOWN PICNIC MINUTES

July 25, 2007

The Walkersville Burgess & Commissioners called a quick meeting at the Town Picnic on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. Those in attendance included Burgess Ralph Whitmore, Commissioners Sam Eyler, Jim Reid, Chad Weddle, and Debbie Zimmerman, Town Manager Gloria Long Rollins, Planning and Zoning Administrator Susan Hauver. Commissioner Schildt was not present.

The purpose of the meeting was to consider and act on matters which required attention prior to the next scheduled Town Meeting on August 8, 2008.

1. VICTORIA PARK LETTER OF CREDIT ACCEPTANCE

Commissioner Chad Weddle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Jim Reid, to allow Victoria Park to guarantee their public works agreements with an out of state bank letter of credit, based on Attorney David Severn’s approval of same. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0.

 

2. SMITH ELLIOTT KEARNS AUDIT LETTER APPROVAL

Ms. Rollins presented the scope of service letter from Smith, Elliott & Kearns and the corresponding fee of $13,800 already approved in the FY2008 budget. The audit starts on August 13, 2007.

Commissioner Jim Reid made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Chad Weddle, to approve the Smith, Elliott, Kearns Scope of Engagement letter. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0.

 

3. AMBULANCE COMPANY BOND REFINANCING

Commissioner Weddle asked for approval for the ambulance company’s refinancing of their tax exempt bond with PNC.

Commissioner Chad Weddle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Debbie Zimmerman, to approve ambulance company refinancing of bond with PNC. The motion passed by a vote of 4-0.

 

4. MAINTENANCE OF BRICK STRUCTURES AT HERITAGE FARM

Staff obtained prices for the point up of brickwork on the Manor House, spring house, and bank barn. $18,000 and $11,000 were the prices of the two proposals.

Commissioners agreed by general consent to accept the proposal of $11,000 from David Poole Masonry.

 

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
