Commissioner Sam Eyler was absent due to recent surgery, Commissioner Chad Weddle was away on vacation, and Commissioner Jim Reid has resigned.

The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Due to the absence of 3 commissioners, there was not a quorum present in order to conduct town business. Therefore, no motions were made, no minutes approved, etc., but the following took place:

1. VETERANS COMMITTEE/AMERICAN LEGION – FLAG PRESENTATION TO FAMILIES OF SERVICE PEOPLE

Members from the Military Gift Committee reported on the progress of the committee in mailing out care packages to the service men and women serving overseas. Michael Strausbough of the Woodsboro American Legion Post 282 presented the history of the Blue Star Flags and presented a flag to each parent present who has a son or daughter serving in the military overseas.

Refreshments were served during a time of socializing after the presentation.

2. FINANCIAL STATEMENT PRESENTATION – SMITH, ELLIOTT, KEARNS & CO., LLC

Wayne Becker of Smith, Elliott, Kearns & Co. reviewed the audited financial statements of the Town of Walkersville and reported that the town is in good financial condition.

3. CITIZENS’ QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS

Mr. and Mrs. Walsh of George Street presented photos of a junkyard located at 11 George Street. The town zoning administrator will inspect in regards to the complaint and issue the appropriate letter or fine.

The discussion ended at 8:35 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
