All aluminum and steel food and beverage cans.
   Examples: soft drink, beer and juice cans; soup, tuna, vegetable and pet food cans.
Aluminum foil and pie plates
   Examples: clean aluminum foil, pie plates and trays.
  • Empty and lightly rinse all cans
  • Clean off and fold aluminum foil and pie plates and trays (don't ball it up)
  • Place steel can lids inside cans
  • Labels are OK
No scrap metal
No pots or pans, misc. cookware
No automotive parts
No propane tanks
No paint cans
No aluminum furniture or siding
No metal tubing or wires
All food and beverage jars and bottles (all three colors).
   Examples: soft drink, juice, beer and wine bottles, spaghetti sauce, pickle, baby food and mayonnaise jars.
  • Empty and rinse bottles and jars
  • Throw away lids and caps
  • Labels and neck rings are OK
DO NOT BREAK GLASS
No caps or lids
No mirror or window glass
No drinking glasses, cups, plates, cookware, pottery, ceramics, etc.
No light bulbs, vases, candle holders, crystal, etc.

NO BROKEN BOTTLES OR JARS
Narrow necked clear and colored plastic bottles with a -1- or -2- recycling symbol.

   Examples: milk, soft drink, juice bottles, detergent bottles, some water and shampoo bottles.
  • Empty and rinse bottles
  • Throw away caps and lids
  • Flatten to save space
  • Please, only #1 or #2 bottles (the symbols are on the bottom of the bottles). No other numbers.
No caps or lids
No styrofoam
No food containers
   Examples: yogurt and margarine tubs, salad containers
No automotive product containers
   Examples: oil, antifreeze, brake fluid
No pesticides bottles
No plant pots
No plastic bags and film
No milk and juice cartons
Newspaper (can be mingled with mixed paper, listed below).
  • Place in paper grocery sack or tie with string
  • Keep in bundles about 12" high
  • Place inside (preferably on top) bin or lean beside bin
  • Set out in dry weather, please don't place in plastic bags
No newspapers in plastic bags
No fax paper or plastic coated paper
No papers contaminated by food, animal waste or oil
No egg cartons
No cereal boxes, cracker boxes, shoe boxes
No carbon paper
No gift wrap
No paper towels, napkins, tissue paper
No milk and juice cartons
No cardboard (recycle separately)
Corrugated cardboard boxes (the thick, fluted packing boxes).
  • Break down and flatten boxes
  • For large boxes, please cut down into sheets 2 1/2' x 2 1/2'
  • Set out in dry weather
  • If amount is large, please tie in bundles about 6" high
  • Place inside recycling bin or lean beside it
No non-flattened boxes and large sheets
No cereal boxes, cracker boxes, 6/ 12 pack boxes
No wax and plastic coated boxes
No contaminated food boxes
   Example: oily pizza boxes
No frozen food boxes and juice tubes
No milk and juice cartons
No newspaper (recycle separately)
No mixed paper (recycle separately)
Most junk mail, magazines, catalogs under 1", envelopes, writing paper, copy paper, computer paper, glossy newspaper inserts, office paper, poster paper (can be mingled with newspaper, as listed above).
  • Mix in brown paper grocery sack and fold down top
  • Set out for pickup in dry weather, don't use plastic bags
  • Place in reycling bin or lean beside it
  • Please, only one bag per week
No mixed paper in plastic bags
No gift wrap, thermal fax paper
No paper towles, napkins or tissues
No egg cartons
No carbon paper, catalogs over 1" (split down spine)
No photographs
No plastic envelopes
   Examples: Overnight mail envelopes
No paper contaminated with food/animal waste/oil
No milk and juice cartons
No corrugated cardboard (recycle separately)
